If you are deploying your first fax server solution or replacing your existing solution, our site should prove useful to you.  As you conduct Web research on fax software, remember these 3 things:

1. IP networks, SaaS, and the Cloud have changed the way companies deploy software
   applications including fax software

2. If your company is consolidating data centers, virtualizing servers, deploying Voice-over-IP
or moving to the Cloud, you should be consolidating your faxing  infrastructure

3. XMediusFAX  is a secure, on-premise fax solution that functions like a Cloud Application

A Fax Primer

The Past: Application-Grade Fax SoftwareTM

In the past, fax servers were deployed as independent, stand-alone applications.  Each server was installed on a separate LAN in a separate facility, integrated with a separate PBX and used separate digital telecom circuits.  Each server had its own users, stored its own fax images, and kept its own fax history database.  Multiple servers did not provide High Availability (HA).  They did not provide Disaster Recovery (DR).  They did not provide Branch Office Survivability.  Companies simply replaced a lot of small fax machines in each facility with one big one.

Today: Cloud-Grade Fax SoftwareTM

Today, organizations want to provide faxing services to their end-user customers.  The software you choose must deliver Cloud Application features including: multi-tenancy, peak-load capacity processing and redundant anywhere architecture.  It must be open source and support open standards, be highly scalable and offer flexible deployment options.

For large and mid-sized companies, the idea of deploying numerous, stand-alone Application-Grade Fax Software servers seems as archaic as deploying old-fashioned, stand-alone, manual fax machines.
